VINTAGE
\n\nThe 2015 growing season started early in Napa Valley. As California entered its fourth year of drought, we were fortunate to receive spring rains sufficient to fill our reservoir and saturate the soil. Consistent sun and warmth throughout the growing season led to an early crop of high-quality grapes.
\n\nWINEMAKING
\nWe produce our Sangiovese from a variety of clonal selections, enhancing the complexity of the finished wine. In the winery we handle the fruit gently, destemming without crushing the berries. We adjust our cap management techniques—punchdowns and pumpovers—to get the desired structure and color without overextraction.
TASTING NOTES
\nAromas of cherry, strawberry, blackberry, lavender, mocha and chocolate dance from the glass while supple tannins mingle with flavors of cocoa, cherry and blueberry on the palate. Mouthcoating, but not grippy, this wine can be enjoyed now or cellared over the next 7-10 years for added complexity.

Despite the ongoing statewide drought, Napa Valley received close to average rainfall in 2015-16. More than 12\" fell in March 2016, ensuring that the vines had ample water as they emerged from dormancy. The growing season was considerably cooler than in the previous two vintages, allowing us to harvest beautifully ripened grapes at the end of a long growing season.
WINEMAKING
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of clones 6, 30 and 337, which bring depth to the finished wine. In the winery we handle the fruit gently, destemming without crushing the berries. We adjust our cap management techniques—punchdowns and pumpovers—to get the desired structure and color without overextraction.
TASTING NOTES
The wine displays great aromatic complexity to match its beautiful crimson to dark garnet color. Blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry aromas are complemented by cedar, sage, and thyme notes. These flavors carry through on the palate, supported by substantial but soft, supple tannins. Notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and a hint of tobacco develop on the lingering finish. This is a wine of great length and complexity that will continue to evolve in the glass and cellar.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is irresistible now but will reward cellaring for a decade or more.
\nPAIRINGS
This versatile wine would be wonderful with grilled meats (pork, skirt steak, leg of lamb, lamb chops) and a wild mushroom risotto.

WINEMAKING
Our Sangiovese Riserva is selected from our finest barrels and only in outstanding vintages. A wine of great depth and concentration - true to both its Italian heritage and its Napa Valley terroir.
Made with 50% of the Brunellone clone and 50% of the Col D’Orcia clone, the grapes are hand-picked and gently sorted before destemming without crushing the berries. We adjust our cap management techniques—punchdowns and pumpovers—to get the desired structure and color without overextraction. It then gets extended barrel aging in French oak.
\nTASTING NOTES
Intensely colored and vibrant, this wine is bursting with wonderful aromas of black cherry and plum and are supported by notes of espresso grounds, cigar box, cedar, tobacco and mocha. These dark notes belie the bright and lively nature of the wine. A wine of great depth and concentration, this wine is richly textured, with silky and satiny but grippy tannins that promise a long life for this wine.

Enjoy with a double-cut pork chop, a thick steak, or your favorite Italian style pizza.

VINTAGE
We had a wet start to 2017, so welcome after 5 years of drought. The bulk of the rain fell in January and February but rains continued into April, ensuring that the vines would have ample water throughout the growing season. The harvest started more or less on time with average to slightly low yields. What started in water ended in fire. Fortunately we had harvested most of our fruit before the October fires. We did not use any fruit harvested after the fires.

VINTAGE
We had a wet start to 2017, so welcome after 5 years of drought. The bulk of the rain fell in January and February but rains continued into April, ensuring that the vines would have ample water throughout the growing season. The harvest started more or less on time with average to slightly low yields. What started in water ended in fire. Fortunately we had harvested most of our fruit before the October fires. We did not use any fruit harvested after the fires.
WINEMAKING
The four varieties were hand-picked and fermented separately with gentle fermentation techniques resulting in wine of great depth and complexity. We selected the finest barrels of each lot to create the Phenomenon blend. The wine matured for 20 months in new and once-used French oak barrels before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
This wine is rich and sumptuous, with a satiny texture conveying flavors of blackberry, black cherry, and molten chocolate. The wine is brilliantly aromatic with an ever-evolving palette of rose and violet, freshly brewed espresso, and dark fruit. It is approachable now but will open up and offer more with time in the cellar.

This versatile wine would be wonderful alongside a butteflied leg of lamb, fettucine with walnut pesto, or pomegranate-braised short ribs.

WINEMAKING
Our Sangiovese Riserva is selected from our finest barrels and only in outstanding vintages. A wine of great depth and concentration - true to both its Italian heritage and its Napa Valley terroir.
Made with 50% of the Brunellone clone and 50% of the Col D’Orcia clone, the grapes are hand-picked and gently sorted before destemming without crushing the berries. We adjust our cap management techniques—punchdowns and pumpovers—to get the desired structure and color without overextraction. It then gets extended barrel aging in French oak.
\nTASTING NOTES
This richly colored wine displays a quiet intensity and great depth. Bing cherry aromas accompany a savory core with notes of dark chocolate-covered espresso beans. The silky tannings have plenty of grip, and the wine has the texture of molten chocolate. This is one for the ages that will reward will patient cellaring.
PAIRINGS
Pair with a grilled chop with a dry rub of cocoa powder and ancho chile, grilled duck breast with a tart cherry compote, or even a bittersweet flourless chocolate cake with whipped cream.

Notes of toasted oak, such as vanilla and spice, add depth to the wine and gently support the fruit character. The wine is mouth-coating and characterful. It will evolve in your glass or decanter, and it has the structure to grow in elegance and complexity as it matures over many years.

VINTAGE
The 2018 growing season got a relatively late start due to a cool and blessedly rainy Spring. Summer temperatures remained moderate, with a brief and relatively mild heat spike at the end of July. Our harvest began 15 days later than in 2017, and proceeded at a slow and steady pace, affording us the luxury of picking at peak flavor develeopment and relatively low Brix. Our last pick was on November 6, setting a record for our latest harvest. Yields were up relative to the last several years and the quality is outstanding.
WINEMAKING
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of clones 6, 30 and 337, which bring depth to the finished wine. In the winery we handle the fruit gently, destemming without crushing the berries. We adjust our cap management techniques—punchdowns and pumpovers—to get the desired structure and color without overextraction.
TASTING NOTES
This gorgeous garnet/black Cabernet has layered depth. Aromatic highlights include blackberry, blackcurrant and Bing cherry supported by a touch of toasty oak and dark chocolate. The wine is supple on the palate with fine-grained tannins that provide just the right grip. Signs of espresso beans and rich chocolate add contrast to the fruit and floral notes. Myriad flavors swirl just beneath the surface and contribute to an ever-changing finish. This wine will develop and evolve for 10-15 years in your cellar.

Look for foods with bold flavors to match this wine's intensity, such as a peppercorn-crusted steak, rosemary-scented lamb kabobs, or a Caprese bowl with roasted zucchini and almonds with thyme and oregano.

VINTAGE
The 2018 growing season got a relatively late start due to a cool and blessedly rainy spring. Summer temperatures remained moderate, with a brief and relatively mild heat spike at the end of July. Our harvest began 15 days later than in 2017, and proceeded at a slow and steady pace, affording us the luxury of picking at peak flavor development and relatively low Brix. Our last pick was on November 6, setting a record for our latest harvest. Yields were up relative to the last several years and the quality is outstanding.
WINEMAKING
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Aglianico in this blend were harvested and fermented separately. After a brief cold soak, each lot fermented in 10-14 days. The wine was gently pressed off the skin to age in French oak barrels, 50% new barrels for the Cabernet and 16% new for the Aglianico.
TASTING NOTES
Deep red to black with aromas that take flight the moment the bottle is opened, may well be the finest John's Promise to date. It is complex., concentrated, and intense. Black cherry, dark chocolate, and pomegranate flavors are supported by vanilla bean and toasty notes imparted by aging in oak barrels. The finish reveals blackberry, freshly roasted coffee and more rich chocolate, and seems to go on forever. This wine will evolve and develop with time but is perfectly approachable now.
Drinking window: Enjoy now through 2033
\nPAIRINGS
This wine is beautiful on its own. It would make a lovely partner to rich cheeses such as Cambozola, a Tuscan bean stew, or a standing rib roast.

TASTING NOTES
\nRich scarlet in color, this wine offers disparate yet beautifully intergrated aromas that range from red rasberry, star anise, and cinnamon to toasted almonds, gooseberry, milk chocolate, and baking spice. The medium/heavy body carries these flavors on the palate augmented with more layers of flavor from fine French oak barrels. These notes of allspice, sandalwood, and vanilla are almost hypnotic over the smooth, long finish.

\nPAIRINGS
This versatile wine would be wonderful alongside a butteflied leg of lamb, fettucine with walnut pesto, or pomegranate-braised short ribs.

VINTAGE
\nThe 2021 vintage will be remembered for low yields with intensely-flavored, small-sized berries and a smooth and uneventful harvest season. The season started off with very little rain, leading to the 2nd year of drought conditions. While concerning in the long term, the drought of 2021 resulted in a more natural load on the vines, requiring less pruning and dropping of fruit. The resulting grapes are packed full of flavor. Truly, one of the great vintages.
\nWINEMAKING
Aged 20 months in 10% new American oak
TASTING NOTES
Our 100% Estate grown Sangiovese offers up incredible aromas of dark red fruits, sage, caramel, and maple syrup. On the palate, there are tantalizing flavors of dark chocolate, coconut, and dark cherries. The mouth coating, velvety mid-palate leads to a long finish with well-integrated tannins. This gem will age beautifully for the next 15+ years--however, it’s hard not to enjoy this now.

Try this with Osso Bucco and Creamy Polenta and your palate will thank you.
