VINTAGE NOTES 2017 marks the fifth vintage of CAMi Vineyards. We continue to produce wines that express great complexity and elegance. The growing year began with abundant rainfall, followed by a mild spring resulting in extended flowering with little shatter. A Labor Day weekend heatwave kicked harvest into high gear, then cool weather allowed sugar levels to return to normal. By October 8, all of the 2017 grape tonnage was in when warm, fierce winds fueled an unprecedented firestorm. As a small, hands-on winery, we had the opportunity to bring to pick the vineyard at bring in our harvest at the optimum time. WINEMAKER NOTES The 2017 Red Blend displays impressive aromatics. Notes of fresh flowers, lavender, dried herbs and cocoa powder which lead to crushed raspberries rounding out the aromatics. Sweet red fruit of raspberries follow through on the palate with layers of blueberry adding dimension. Layers of plush blue fruit and leather add complexity on the mid palate. Ample fruit and polished tannins complete this elegant wine.

The CAMi Cabernet Sauvignon is opulent without being overdone. A deep purple color around the edges with an obsidian core in the glass hints at the concentration we achieved with this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. There is a contentious back and forth on the nose as the initial fruit components give way to a more mature savory side. Boysenberry jam, Bing cherry and a hint of vanilla are first on the scene which then give way to more soil driven notes of freshly tilled soil, smoke and black olive. The 2018 offers up plentiful fruit along with lively acid and ample structure creating a wine with the ability to drink on release but also with the potential to cellar for 15 to 20 years.

VINTAGE NOTES

The 2018 growing season was a stellar year for the Napa Valley. A longer growing season combined with cooler temperatures allowed for even ripening in the vineyard and harvest dates later into the fall leading to better maturity and overall grape quality. The 2018 is a cellar worthy collectible wine to be enjoyed for years to come.

WINEMAKER NOTES

The 2018 vintage marks the sixth vintage of CAMi Vineyards. A blend of 52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, our 2018 Red Blend displays impressive aromatics. Notes of fresh flowers, lavender, dried herbs and cocoa powder which lead to crushed raspberries rounding out the aromatics. Sweet red fruit of raspberries follow through on the palate with layers of blueberry adding dimension. Plush blue fruit and leather add complexity on the mid palate. Ample dark fruit and polished tannins complete this elegant wine.
