\nShaped by a wet winter and a slow start to the season, the 2023 vintage benefited from a long, mild growing period that allowed for extended hang time. \nThe Tragoustis family’s Zinfandel vineyard in Calistoga is rooted in one of Napa Valley’s warmest growing regions, where abundant sun and well-drained soils allow the fruit to reach full, even ripeness. This tiny plot consistently produces richly flavored Zinfandel with generous concentration, supple texture, and notes of ripe red and dark berries layered with spice. Despite its depth and power, the vineyard’s fruit retains a natural balance that reflects Calistoga’s classic, bold yet polished style.

\nThe 2023 vintage in Dry Creek Valley was shaped by a cooler, extended growing season that allowed the fruit to hang longer, resulting in brighter, more refined wines than in recent years. Zinfandel in particular shows fresh red fruit character, lively acidity, and a vibrant sense of balance, marking a shift away from the darker expressions of 2022.
\nSomers Ranch in Dry Creek Valley is a warm, benchland hand-farmed family vineyard site that is well suited to Zinfandel, where ample sun and well-drained soils encourage even ripening and expressive fruit. The vineyard consistently produces grapes with bright red berry character, natural concentration, and balanced acidity. Wines from Somers Ranch tend to show a vibrant, approachable style, combining freshness and energy with the classic spice and depth that define Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel.

The palate carries these aromas seamlessly into flavor, unfolding in waves of red berry richness framed by subtle spice and a touch of sweet oak. The texture is velvety with elegant, well-integrated tannins that add structure without overwhelming. Balanced and expressive, the wine finishes with lingering notes of cherry, raspberry, and spice, showcasing both rich fruit and finesse in the classic Zinfandel style.
