Vintage: 2019 was an early harvest with a mild winter that brought us some drought relief, however bud-break still peaked out about 2 to 3 weeks early. Spring weather was warm and allowed slightly below crop yield but good berry set. Moderate summer temperatures easily brought the fruit to full flavored maturity. The 2019 vintages have intense flavors and aromas with beautiful structure and balance.
Vineyard: Truchard Merlot is harvested from five separate hillside locations on the estate vineyard. The difference in soil, exposure, and temperature at each site combine to produce unique growing conditions for the grapes. As a result, the wines from these hillsides have their own identity, and each contributes different characteristics to the final blend. The vines age from 19 - 42 years old. Cabernet Franc, grown in adjacent areas of the vineyard is added to provide additional softness, structure and complexity.
Winemaking: All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. Each fermentation was pumped-over twice daily, the temperature peaking at 90 F. Maceration time varied from 12 to 28 days depending on wine lot. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (35% new). Racking occurred every 4 months until bottling in August of 2021. The final blend is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. The wine is drinkable upon release but will reward careful cellaring for the next 10 -15 years.

Roussanne is a challanging grape in both the vineyard and winery. However, when done correctly it can produce an aromatic and delicate wine with structure and finesse to age.
Winemaking: All of the fruit was whole cluster pressed and fermented in French oak barrels (20%) new. After fermentation the wine remains in barrel on the lees (sur lie) for 6 months. A partial malolactic fermentation (30% complete) allows the wine to retain its natural acidity, while regular stirring of the lees (battonage) gives added complexity and richness. This wine was bottled in April 2020.

Mild conditions throughout summer and fall allowed the crop to slowly ripen and develop maximum flavor. The wines of 2020 are powerful but elegant with firm acidity and beautiful balance. This could be the vintage of the decade!
Vineyard: Seven separate clonal selections of Pinot Noir grow on the Trurchard Estate Vineyard. Two \"Martini clones\", the \"Pommard\" clone, the \"Swan\" clone and several new selections from France -Dijon 114, 115, 667, 777. Each selection provides a unique element of aromatic fruit, spice, and texture to the blend. The vines range from 20 to 42 years and are planted in several sites that take full advantage of the this soil, rolling hills and cooler temperatures. These are factors that make the Carneros an ideal spot to grow Pinot Noir.
WInemaking: All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed into open top fermenters with approximately 20% whole berries. Each lot was inoculated with Assmannhausen
yeast, after “cold soaking” for up to 5 days. Fermentations were punched down three
times daily, with the temperature peaking at 92º F. After 7 - 12 days of maceration, the lots
were pressed, settled in tanks for 24 hours, and then put into barrel. This wine was aged
for 10 months in French oak (35% new), and bottled in August of 2019.

It is 400 acres of hills and valleys, which contain a variety of soils: clay, shale, sandstone, limestone, volcanic ash and rock. The combination of terrain, geology, and marine-moderated temperatures, provides conditions well suited for wine-growing. Cabernet Sauvignon is planted in various sites - on steep, southwest-facing hillsides. The vines range from 25 to 47 years old, and produce wines that are deep in color, dominated by lush flavors of plum, berry, and spice. Cabernet Sauvignon is the only wine produced by Truchard Vineyards with a “reserve” designation. It is a very limited bottling that is a tribute to the quality of this unique vineyard.
\nHarvest: Oct. 18 – 30 • 24.5 ºBrix • 3.57 pH • 6.5 g/L TA
\nWinemaking: All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. Each fermentation was pumped-over twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 88º F. The lots were pressed after 28 days of maceration. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak (75% new). Racking occurred every 4 months until bottling in August of 2023. This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is drinkable upon release, but will gracefully age for the next 15 – 20 years.

Vintage: After a string of difficult harvests, the 2022 vintage could almost be considered normal. Moderate, but still below average winter rains gave the vines some much needed drought relief. Mild spring weather allowed the vines to set a nice crop - yields were down about 15 percent. Picking started in late August, but then a record setting heat wave in mid- September kicked everything into overdrive. The wines of 2022 show finesse and balance; along with beautiful fruit flavors and aromas.

The final blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec. This wine is drinkable now, but will gracefully age for the next 15 - 20 years.

\nVineyard: The Truchard Estate Vineyard is located in the Carneros region of the Napa Valley. It is 400 acres of hills and valleys which contain a variety of soils: clay, shale, sandstone, limestone, volcanic ash and rock. The combination of terrain, geology, and marine-moderated temperatures, provides ideal conditions for wine-growing. In 2009, 2 acres of Clone 169 Cabernet Sauvignon were planted above the Truchard Vineyards wine cave. These vines grow in light clay soils and produce a distinct wine that has unique floral aromas and lush flavors of plum, berry, and spice.
\nWinemaking: All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. The fermentation was pumped-over twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 88º F. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (45% new). Rackings occurred every 4 months until bottling. This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is drinkable now, but will continue to develop over the next 10-12 years.

Vintage: 2022 was yet another challenging year in the vineyards. After a second record dry winter in a row, bud break came early. In spring, the drought stricken vines struggled to grow and set a very light crop consisting of small clusters and berries. Yields were down nearly 50 percent! Moderate conditions throughout summer allowed this fruit to easily ripen. As expected, the wines of 2022 are intense, austere, and concentrated.
\nVineyard: Merlot is harvested from five separate hillside locations on the Truchard Estate Vineyard. The differences in soil, exposure, and temperature at each site combine to produce unique growing conditions for the grapes. As a result, the wines from these hillsides each have their own identity, and each contributes different characteristics to the final blend. The vines range from 25 - 47 years old. Cabernet Franc - grown in adjacent areas of the vineyard - is blended to provide additional softness, structure, and complexity.
\nHarvest: September 15 - 30 • 24.7 ºBrix • 3.42 pH • 6.6 g/L TA
\nWinemaking: The fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. Each fermentation was pumped-over twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 90º F. Maceration time varied from 12 to 28 days depending on vineyard block. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (35% new). The final blend is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. This wine is drinkable upon release, but will gracefully age for the next 15 - 20 years.

\nHarvest: October 31 • 24.5 ºBrix • 3.80 pH • 6.6 g/L TA
\nWinemaking: The fruit was gently destemmed and crushed into an open top fermenter with approximately 20% whole berries. The tank was inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast and punched down twice daily throughout the fermentation. The temperature peaked at 88º F. After 14 days of maceration, the lot was pressed and allowed to settle in tank before going to barrel. The wine was aged for 10 months in both French (85%) and American (15%) oak; 25% of these barrels were new. The wine was racked only one time before being bottled in August 2023. This wine is 100% Tempranillo. It is approachable right now, but will reward careful cellaring for the next 10 - 15 years.
\nWine Analysis: 14.2% alcohol • 3.86 pH • 6.1 g/l TA
\nTasting Notes: Rich aromas of ripe plum, cassis, and black cherries with hints of cedar and tobacco. The mouth is layered with flavors of red currants, boysenberry, and sweet vanilla. Chalky tannins focus the palate and provide a delicate finish of red fruit, mineral and spice.

\nVineyard: The Truchard Estate Vineyard is located in the Carneros region of the Napa Valley. It is 400 acres of rolling hills and valleys that contain a variey of soils: clay, shale, sandstone, limestone, volcanic ash and rock. The combinations of terrain, geology and marine-moderated temperatures provide ideal growing conditions for wine-grapes. Our Cabernet Sauvignon is planted in several different sites on steep, southwestern facing hillsides. The vines range from 19 - 42 years and produce wines that are deep in color and dominated by lush flavors of plum, berry and spice. Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec are blended in to provide additional softness, structure and complexity.
\nWinemaking: All the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. Fermentations were pumped-over twice daily with the temperature peaking at 88 F. Maceration time varied from 14 to 30 days depending on vineyard block. The wine was then aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (45% new). Rackings occured every 4 months until bottling. The final blend is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. This wine can age 10 to 15 years with proper cellaring but is drinkable now.

The wines of 2022 show finesse and balance; along with beautiful fruit flavors and aromas.

It is 400 acres of hills and valleys which contain a variety of soils: clay, shale, sandstone, limestone, volcanic ash and rock. The combination of terrain, geology, and marine-moderated temperatures, provides ideal conditions for wine-growing. Cabernet Sauvignon is planted in several different sites - on steep, southwestern facing hillsides. The vines range from 26 - 48 years old, and produce wines that are deep in color, dominated by lush flavors of plum, berry, and spice. Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec are blended in to provide additional softness, structure, and complexity.
\nHarvest: Sept. 29 – Oct. 18 • 24.6 ºBrix • 3.53 pH • 6.4 g/L TA
\nWinemaking: All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. Fermentations were pumped-over twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 88º F. Maceration time varied from 14 to 30 days depending on vineyard block. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (45% new). The final blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec. This wine is drinkable now, but will gracefully age for the next 15 - 20 years.
\nWine Analysis: 14.2% alcohol • 3.64 pH • 6.0 g/l TA
\nTasting Notes: A complex nose of boysenberry, raspberry, and cassis; with hints of cedar and vanilla. The mouth is layered with bright flavors of black cherry, red currants, and berry jam. Ripe tannins focus the palate and provide a lengthy finish of spice and red fruit.

In 2009, 2 acres of Clone 169 Cabernet Sauvignon were planted above the Truchard Vineyards wine cave. These vines grow in light clay soils and produce a distinct wine that has unique floral aromas and lush flavors of plum, berry, and spice.
\nWinemaking: All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. The fermentation was pumped-over twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 88º F. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (45% new). Rackings occurred every 4 months until bottling. This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is drinkable now, but will continue to develop over the next 10-12 years.

The 2023 Chardonnay is layered with tropical fruit notes of pineapple and mango counterpointed by a core of bright citrus fruits of Meyer lemon, quince, and kumquat then rounded out by granny smith apples, spice, and floral like perfume. The high-quality French oak is well integrated and the wine has amazing acidity for its richness and complexity.
We grow our Chardonnay in the coolest and southernmost part of the Estate, the vines range from 25-45 years old and benefit from the various marine soils, gently sloped terrain, and cooler temperature conditions that make the Carneros region ideal for growing Chardonnay. They produce aromatic wines with complex fruit characteristics with unique spice and floral notes.

Vineyard: There are only 2 acres of Zinfandel planted on the Truchard Estate Vineyard. One acre is in the northern “Highlands” region, and the other acre is located at the southern end of the vineyard. The vines range from 25 to 33 years old and grow on steep hillsides composed of volcanic rock and ash. The porous soils and cooler Carneros climate combine to produce an exceptionally intense Zin, with unique fruit and spice components.
\nHarvest: Ocober 26 - 31 • 24.5 ºBrix • 3.62 pH • 7.2 g/L TA
\nWinemaking: The grapes were gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. The fermentations were pumped-over twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 88° F. After 14 days of maceration the lots were pressed, and the wine allowed to settle in tank for 24 hours before going to barrel. This wine was aged in both French (80%) and American oak (20%) for 10 months; 35% of these barrels were new. The wine was racked only one time before being bottled in August of 2024. Truchard Vineyards produces the only Zin made entirely from Napa Carneros fruit.
\nWine Analysis: 14.2% alcohol • 3.72 pH • 6.2 g/l TA
\nTasting Notes: An exotic nose of boysenberry, cherry, and cassis with hints of cedar, tobacco, and mint. The mouth is filled with jammy flavors of ripe plum, cranberry, and sweet vanilla. Round tannins and firm acidity provide a lengthy finish of spice and red fruits.

It has traditionally been used as a blender to add color and structure in Bordeaux wines. It is also well-known as an Argentine varietal. In 2008, one acre of Malbec was planted in an isolated valley on the Truchard Estate Vineyard. The vines grow in a light sandstone soil on a steep hillside. The cooler Carneros climate allows for long hang-time and round, ripe tannins. The resulting wine is dark purple, with spicy aromas, and intense flavors of plum and berry.
\nHarvest: November 9 • 24.4 ºBrix • 3.46 pH • 6.4 g/L TA
\nWinemaking: All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed into open top fermenters, then inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. The fermentation was punched down twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 88º F. The wine was pressed after 14 days of maceration and aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (40% new). Rackings occurred every 4 months until bottling in August of 2015. This wine is drinkable now, but will develop more complexity over the next 7 – 10 years.

\nTasting Notes: Rich nose of black cherry and cassis with at touch of sweet vanilla. The mouth is round and layered with flavors of plum jam, boysenberry, and red currants. Ripe tannins fill the palate and provide a lingering finish of fruit, mineral, and spice.

\n2023 was a near perfect vintage! Steady winter rains helped ease the stress of several years of drought, then ideal springtime conditions allowed the vines to set an above-average crop. The very mild temperatures throughout the growing season resulted in one of the latest and longest harvests in the history of the Napa Valley. The wines of 2023 have exceptional depth, intensity, finesse, and balance.
\nVineyard: Seven separate clonal selections of Pinot Noir grow on the Trurchard Estate Vineyard. Two \"Martini clones\", the \"Pommard\" clone, the \"Swan\" clone and several new selections from France -Dijon 114, 115, 667, 777. Each selection provides a unique element of aromatic fruit, spice, and texture to the blend. The vines range from 18 to 50 years and are planted in several sites that take full advantage of the this soil, rolling hills and cooler temperatures. These are factors that make the Carneros an ideal spot to grow Pinot Noir.
\nWInemaking: All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed into open top fermenters with approximately 20% whole berries. Each lot was inoculated with Assmannhausen
yeast, after “cold soaking” for up to 5 days. Fermentations were punched down three
times daily, with the temperature peaking at 92º F. After 7 - 12 days of maceration, the lots
were pressed, settled in tanks for 24 hours, and then put into barrel. This wine was aged
for 10 months in French oak (35% new), and bottled in July of 2024.

Vineyard: 3 acres of Roussanne were planted on the southern edge of Truchard Vineyards in 1998. Growing in soils composed of volcanic rock and ash, the vines benefit from the gently sloped terrain and cooler Carneros temperatures. Roussanne is a challenging grape in both the vineyard and winery. However, when done correctly it can produce an aromatic and delicate wine with structure and finesse to age.
\nWinemaking: All of the fruit was whole cluster pressed and fermented in French oak barrels (20%) new. After fermentation the wine remains in barrel on the lees (sur lie) for 6 months. A partial malolactic fermentation (30% complete) allows the wine to retain its natural acidity, while regular stirring of the lees (battonage) gives added complexity and richness. This wine was bottled in April 2024.

Vintage: 2024 was basically a perfect vintage! Near record winter rains finally put an end to years of drought. Ideal springtime conditions allowed the vines to set an above average crop. Very mild temperatures throughout the growing season resulted in one of the latest and longest harvests in the history of the Napa Valley. The wines of 2023 have exceptional depth, intensity, finesse, and balance.
\nVineyard: There are 12 acres of Syrah planted on the Truchard Estate Vineyard. Four acres are in the “Highlands” region to the north, and 8 acres are located at the southern end of the vineyard. These areas are dominated by austere hillsides composed of volcanic rock and ash. The vines range from 25 – 33 years old and benefit from the unique combination of soil, exposure, and cool Carneros temperatures. The result is a full-bodied wine, with flavors and structure reminiscent of the northern Rhone.
\nHarvest: Oct. 26 – 31 • 24.7 ºBrix • 3.61 pH • 6.7 g/L TA
\nWinemaking: All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed into open top fermenters with approximately 20% whole berries. Individual lots were inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast. Fermentations were punched down twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 88º F. After 14 days of maceration, each lot was pressed and allowed to settle in tank before going to barrel. The wine was aged for 10 months in both French (90%) and American (10%) oak; 25% of these barrels were new. This wine was racked only once before being bottled in August of 2025. This wine is drinkable upon release, but will gracefully age for the next 15+ years.
\nWine Analysis: 14.3 % alcohol • 3.72 pH • 6.0 g/l TA
\nTasting Notes: Concentrated aromas of black plum, cassis, and ripe cherry; with hints of vanilla, leather, earth, and white pepper. The mouth is layered with bright, jammy flavors of boysenberry, blackberry, and red currants; followed by mineral and cracked black pepper. Mouth-filling tannins provide an opulent finish of fruit and spice.

The 2025 Chardonnay is layered with tropical fruit notes of pineapple and mango counterpointed by a core of bright citrus fruits of Meyer lemon, quince, and kumquat then rounded out by granny smith apples, spice, and floral like perfume. The high-quality French oak is well integrated and the wine has amazing acidity for its richness and complexity.
We grow our Chardonnay in the coolest and southernmost part of the Estate, the vines range from 25-45 years old and benefit from the various marine soils, gently sloped terrain, and cooler temperature conditions that make the Carneros region ideal for growing Chardonnay. They produce aromatic wines with complex fruit characteristics with unique spice and floral notes.

Vineyard: 3 acres of Roussanne were planted on the southern edge of Truchard Vineyards in 1998. Growing in soils composed of volcanic rock and ash, the vines benefit from the gently sloped terrain and cooler Carneros temperatures. Roussanne is a challenging grape in both the vineyard and winery. However, when done correctly it can produce an aromatic and delicate wine with structure and finesse to age.
\nWinemaking: All of the fruit was whole cluster pressed and fermented in French oak barrels (20%) new. After fermentation the wine remains in barrel on the lees (sur lie) for 6 months. A partial malolactic fermentation (30% complete) allows the wine to retain its natural acidity, while regular stirring of the lees (battonage) gives added complexity and richness. This wine was bottled in April 2026.
